Aku Menulis Maka Aku Ada!

Best seller novel created by Tere Liye entitled “Hafalan Shalat Delisa”. This novel has background tsunami tragedy that hit Indonesia seven years ago. The background of “Hafalan Shalat Delisa” remains us about tsunami in Aceh. How powerful the disaster is that hit Aceh and the sufferings of the people through the figures Delisa, Abu Usman, Umi Salamah, Ustadz Rahman, and Smith.

Umi Salamah, who has four daughters, namely is Fatima, Aisha & Zahra twins, as well as the smallest Delisa, with Abi Usman who worked abroad. They lived in Lho Nga beach area. When Delisa will have a test of memorization reading prayers, she continued to memorize it, because if she passed the exam, she would buy a necklace with the initials ‘D’ by his mother.

Delisa was ready to do exams at school by rote prayers to Ustadz Rahman and accompany by her mother, while her older sister Fatima, Zahra, and Aisha waiting at home. At the started of reading prayers exams, she remembered the advice of the religious teacher, to remain humble no matter what happens. Suddenly it happened something very unusual, sea waves are very high (tsunami) came quickly, the people was afraid and running out, but Delisa still enjoyed running her prayers.

The disaster devastated the villages along the shore and throwing objects. Delisa is one of the children who are victims of the disaster. A few days after the incident, Delisa was found by Smith on a hill with a severe condition.

Delisa loss of third her brother and Umi are not found her body, Delisa also have lost his leg, but life must go on, crying and despair is not the best way solves all problems. Delisa with her smile and her cheerful until Delisa become the Sun for other people. With smile Delisa invite all renascent.

In the novel, many moral messages that we fount. Delisa plain remarks also gave many messages to the audience. Acehnese dialect bad, dramatizing the disaster became criticized by some people. But this novel has plot dramatic and religious, so it’s make many reader like this novel. I like this book because it kept me wanting to read the next page, and the next, and so on.  (liye, 2005)
